Laughter, giggles, fighting with my cousins and sister...swing set in the front; chicken coop, garden, cherry tree in the back…Pappaw “wringing“ the chickens neck…fried chicken and homemade chocolate pie. Memories…I stood in the front yard yesterday morning remembering…a smile came across my face. Pappaw gone since 1986 and Mamaw gone since 1993. I can still see him reading his Bible in his chair.

Now, this old house stands empty, broken windows, bee hive and wasps. Longing for better days...sometimes aren’t we just the same.

Full of life, laughing, giggling…then life happens…the vibrancy often turns to the emptiness of our souls. The God given hopes, dreams, and visions fade away like the Panhandle sunsets.

What if…

What if, those empty dreams and hopes could be stirred up by Jesus. Instead of boarding up the broken windows of our souls, we allow Jesus to heal the broken windows of our souls and hearts that have pierced us from the inside out. Through our healing, we become the house built on a firm foundation, able to withstand the harsh Panhandle heat, tornadoes, hail and snow. We become strong, unfailing, unshakeable, on a firm foundation based on Jesus and His love for us.

The question to ponder…How bad do you want it? How bad do you want the healing? Want the restoration? You can choose to stay boarded like this old house. Or you can choose to live a life of abundance.

What life will you choose?
