Thirty pieces of silver...That's all Judas thought Jesus was worth. Breaks my heart, what about yours? Scripture reading: Matthew 26:14-16; Mark 14:10-11; Luke 22:3-6.
Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him. Matthew 26:14-16, ESV.
Judas Iscariot was the disciple who betrayed our Lord and Savior.
Thirty pieces of silver was the price. This was, in Biblical times, worth 120 denarii. When a person was working as a laborer in those times, it was customarily he would receive 1 denarius for a day's work.
While todays lesson is short, answer this question...What is Jesus worth to you?
Blessings,
