His Plan and Purpose is Better

Sometimes it's hard to fathom God's plan and purpose. Life is going along great, or so we think than BAM!! Hit with something we never asked for, nor did we want to invade our lives. As hard as it is to imagine, God's plan and purpose is better. Sometimes it causes us to examine who we are in Him, or for Him to remove traits from our character that is not good. Just know His thoughts and ways are higher than ours.

We are going to take a peek at Isaiah 55:8-11. The Lord has had me camped out in Isaiah 55 and 56 since yesterday. I know He's trying to teach me, again, but maybe He's got something for you, too. So, grab your Bible, pen and paper, and let's dive in. The verses are from the English Standard Version.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Verse 8-not to sound harsh or anything, but you and I are not God. It's that simple. We do not act or think like Him, even though that His desire for us. He created the World and He controls it. Contrary to what some believe, God is God alone. He loves us, unconditionally. His plan for the end times, which we are living in currently, with judgment and the creation of the new Earth is His plan.

Speaking of end times, let's grab a piece of pecan pie and fix a cup of coffee and chat a minute. Do you know we are living in the days, maybe hours, minutes? See, one day the clouds in the East will part, a trumpet will blow, dead in Christ shall rise first, then His bride-the one who has been made ready, will meet Him in the air. So many people believe they are ready, but are they?

I want to encourage you to search your heart and talk to Jesus about your salvation. Ask yourself, if you are ready for that day. There will be ready, set, go! We are to prepare now, for the time is now. The Bible is being played out before our eyes. WAKE UP, OH SLEEPER!! Get right with Christ today. If you don't know how, contact me. I'll pray with you!

Well, my ADD kicked in and I got off track. Don't worry, my mind does that often! Let's get back to Isaiah 55.

Verse 9-His plans, ways and thoughts are higher than ours. It goes back to He is God. However, if we stuck to His plan and purpose, things might be different in our lives. But, we are human. We decide our ways, plans and thoughts are higher. We go down paths that He never meant for us to take. We take the traveled road, instead of the road God has for us. He will also find compassion on people, only to save them. That's the power of the Cross and what Jesus did for us when He died and rose again. God's grace and mercy is also so much better than ours.

Verse 10-Rain and snow are gifts from Heaven, designed for effectiveness in our transformation. He takes the dead in us, only to transform us into something beautiful. Now, this comes with a price. A price of repentance-turning from our sin. Walking with Jesus and living a life based on Him and His Word.

Verse 11-His Word calls us back to repentance, and He will save us. He is God of compassion and forgiveness. He longs for you to turn back to Him. The time is now! Don't wait another day. It could be too late.

He will also fulfill His plans and promises to you. The ones you thought He forgot about it. He didn't. He will fulfill those promises, so just hold on a bit longer. It's going to happen, so fast your head will spin.

I pray today that if you don't know Jesus, you will turn your heart to Him. I pray as the Christmas season approaches, you are blessed and not stressed. Find joy in Him today. Remember His plans and purpose is the best.

Love in Christ,

V
