Blessed, Part 2

Today, we are picking back off with Psalm 1. Just a refresher: we have been discussing the righteous, delighting in God's Law and His Word. When we do this, we are blessed and produce good fruit. Today, the rest of Psalm 1 is about the wicked. Verse 4 talks about "chaff" this means dry, barren, worthless and without substance. Note the imagine above. All verses are from the English Standard Version and use of commentaries.

Psalm 1:4-6

4 The wicked are not so,

but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

5  Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

6  for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked will perish.

4 The wicked are not so,

but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Look at the picture above, now close your eyes. Imagine the barreness. Worthless, void, without greenery, without fruit. The exposed roots allow the harsh elements to drive away the goodness. The sun beats down. The rain comes only remove the dirt/sand even more. Separating the roots from the deep soil.

The wicked, the sinner is separated from God. Therefore, there is no blessing, no productive fruit.

5  Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

If we could take a look into the future, we would see God sitting on the judgment seat and pronouncing the verdict.

Psalm 35:5, ESV, "Let them be like chaff before the wind,

with the angel of the LORD driving them away!" Chaff before the wind...powerless, driven away from the LORD. Scary, isn't it?!?

Complete separation from God, and this isn't just 20 minutes, or 20 days, this is eternity. Eternal separation and into the lake of fire, AKA hell! Now, I don't mean to scare you, but this is reality.

But...there is a way to avoid the separation. Give your life to Jesus. Oh, how He longs to know you. He waits for the moment you get up to see if you will include Him in your morning, your afternoon, or anytime throughout the day. Please don't let another day go by without giving your heart to Jesus. This may be the day, hour or even minute that God looks to the right side and says to Jesus, "It's time, go get my children." When that trumpet sounds, and the clouds part, the dead will rise first, then the believers, the Bride, of Christ will meet them in the air. Oh, how I wish we could sit with some chips and salsa and talk about your relationship with Jesus. My heart longs to see you saved, to spend eternity with Jesus.

6  for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked will perish.

Since the LORD knows the way of the righteous, He is our hope, when we have faith in Jesus. God cares for the righteous and He establishes the believer in Him. Your life will be judged by God, but it will be better if you follow Him and His will for your life. He secures your eternity in Heaven with Him. Apart from Him, it is eternal fire, bound to perish.

Oh, my friend, where are the chips and salsa?!? To sit with you and ask you about your heart. If Jesus came today, are you ready?

If you know Jesus as your Savior, share Him with others. If you don't, please feel free to reach out to me.

Love in Christ,

Veronica

Blessed part 2 what a message! I completely believe He is separating the Chaff from the wheat. We are there He is searching us out! ...The believer from the "believer".
